HAP works to provide spaces for immigrant voices to be heard on the local level through collaboration with city comprehensive planning processes, encouraging leaders to attend city and county meetings, and creating spaces for community members to share their concerns, discuss important issues and take action to bring about positive change.

HAP is an active member of the Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition (CIRC) focused on advocating for workable, fair and humane immigration policies. Through collaboration with CIRC, HAP is able to bring the rural perspective and contribute to larger state and federal policy campaigns. Partnerships with other community partners allows HAP to advocate for diverse policy change on the state and federal levels.

Developing leadership is an important piece of advocating for change. Through leadership development, political education and community organizing trainings, HAP provide opportunities for community members to learn how to step into leadership roles and understand how they can help bring about change in their communities.
